Over the next fortnight, the country will have 97 new FM radio stations most of them in smaller towns like Trichy. It is expected to be a major success as more and more people are taking to listening to radio programmes. Not sure what new channels are coming in but it is great to see Radio making a comeback against the monotonous TV channels.
Now someone can just think of Simulcasting these channels in the web, we can enjoy the stations even in work listening to local flavour. We will see if any enterprising Trichy Entrepreneur will take this.

it has been quite a while since v had this news of fm stations being launched in trichy.. well it may seem lik it almost took some 5yrs+ for suryan fm to get it’s service on air here at trichy after launchin in chennai n kovai n tirunelveli.. but this time lag i guess is all because of bad governance- the licensing of these fm stations has took longer than what it should have..

Actualy the fm stations like hello fm and suryan fm in trichy has very low signal intensity…which covers trichy only…but other important towns like thanjavur and kumbakonam cannot get these stations which is forty and seventy kilometres respectively…so upcoming stations like radio mirchi or big fm must satisfy with high signals in thanjavur and other surrounding districts around trichy….

I am living in coimbatore and i am also tiruchian. in coimbatore people are enjoys in Hello Fm (106.4), Rainbow Fm (103), Suryan Fm (93.5), Radio Mirchi Fm (98.3), Radio City Fm (91.1). Becuase, lot of FMs are available in coimbatore. They are covered by: Suryan FM – Palakad, Pollachi, Mettupalayam, Anaikatti. Rainbow FM – Kerala State- Ernakulam, Palakkad, Malapuzha dam, Anaikatti, Sathiyamangalam, Mysore, Bangalore (by satelite)Palani, Dindugal, Kangayam, Vellakovil, Erode, Namakkal & Salem in the coverage areas in Rainbow FM.
Its highly coveraged by Rainbow FM Only. But Trichy Rainbow FM? Why can’t coverage the tanjore and pudukkottai, Namakkal,Perambalur, Ariyalur, Jayankondam. But, Trichy is a Centre of the Tamilnadu. But lowest coverage in Suryan Fm, Hello Fm, and Rainbow FM in Trichy City.

Fm rainbow trichy covers thanjavur,kumbakonam,pudukottai,perambalur and ariyalur areas…but other stations like hello and suryan cannot cover even thanjavur clearly(which is just 45 kms from trichy) wat a stations..! Upcoming stations must rectify these problems…or otherwise start a new fm stations in Thanjavur(40 kms from trichy ,35kms from kumbakonam,42kms from ariyalur,38kms from pudukkotai,50kms from thiruvarur)…pls consider this request…

Suryan fm trichy and Hello fm trichy should open a new sub station for transmission in Thanjavur or kumbakonam to cover Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Ariyalur and nagapattinam districts..Trichy AIR Fm rainbow covering these district,s..kodai fm 100.5, which was transmitted from thanjavur in 101.20mhz also not covering whole thanjavur district..please increase the range of transmission..kodai fm should cover all over the parts in Thanjavur district and
kumbakonam side..
