Hei Last year, In Anna university website they Publish the cumulative position for MCA. That means How many candidates take more than 50 and more than 40,… Like that. But this year Anna univ. not yet Publish this…

They started issuing Counselling Application forms…..It costs Rs.300 (Rs.150 for SC/ST on providing community certificate proof)
Filled in applications should reach GCT, Coimbatore before 18th June.They are also selling a book containing all details of MBA/MCA colleges in Tamil Nadu.
That book cost Rs.50 Affiliated colleges counselling form is available at 34 locations in tamil nadu….U can pay by cash or DD and get it….
Anna Univ(CEG) application form is available is in website…..for CEG, u have to send only DD.

according to the info i got none of the collegs that comes in Tancet gives 100% placement. if u get in anna univ psg r ssn u will most probably get placed if u don’t have any arrears.

MBA COUNSELING
For general counseling form, create a new box to your left side and fill in the first digit of your roll number. As regards omr sheet, shade only six numbers leaving first digit of your roll no.
This year, almost 80% of canditates appeared for MBA Tancet have got less than 20 marks. Hence, please don’t make any comparative statements with last/previous-previous years statistics. Let us wait for rant list by AU which I suppose may be released before 27th June 08.
To my estimate, canditates of OC WITH 35 marks/BC with 28 marks/ MBC with 22 marks/SC with 18 marks may be called for MBA COUNSELING. However, all with the mentioned marks will not get, because AU normally call for 2 or 3 times of vacancies. Hence, final selection depends on canditates presence and their option to choose or not the AU, because some may prefer PSG/TCM/KCE/SSN than AU.

3)Community Certificate(not for u bcs U are an other state candidate so u vil be treated as OC)
4)Mark list of all semesters of qualifying examinations.
5)Degree Certificate or Provisional Degree certificate..
If u appeared for the final year in April/May 2008 then u must produce Bonafide Certificate from the college/Institution last studied

Even I purchased that book(Rs50) having details of all colleges. Ther it was mentione psgtech.

Hei I will give details abt last yr counseling. The rank of colleges in that counseling was
1. P.S.G.
2. CIT/SSN
3. Kumaraguru.
4. Thiagarajar Engg..
All these colleges have 60 seats.
So App. 200 seats.
Each college has 18 seats for BC. So there is a minimum chance for 25 BCs in a college.
So if u get below rank 110 in BC then u will get chance in Thiagarajar. (Even SSN bcoz last yr. a guy got rank 95 in BC and got SSN)

How many seats will be there for MBA in PSG.
If it is 60 then 18 seats for OC
If it is 100 then 30 seats for OC
I think it is 60..(Doubt..)
So by some stat.. only 12 candidates of OC category can get. Bcoz Either 6 or seven BC’s will occupy..
So if ur rank is below 15 then u will get..
Bcoz all candidates will give first preference to PSG in Gnrl. Counseling..

To all MBA ASPIRANTS:
For the sake of getting MBA degree, one can join in any college. Those colleges will be conducting lessons in class rooms by part-time/visiting/inexperienced lecturers. You can mug-up whole lessons and vomit in the university exams. But, But, But, what about leadership quality, personality development, Group Discussions, Crisis Management ???????, which are basic qualities for an MBA graduate and also wanted by companies. Hence, before joining MBA, one should decide which college offers qualities apart from academic lessons.

hi amit, im a chennai guy, myself couldnt able to say wch one is best.. i asked many mba guys, even they couldnt able to differentiate.. each one hav their own adv.
Placement wise both are same.
Education environment, PSG is good.
Fee structure wise, CEG is cheap.
Location wise Chennai is good.

Hei I will give details abt last yr counseling. The rank of colleges in that counseling was
1. P.S.G.
2. CIT/SSN
3. Kumaraguru.
4. Thiagarajar Engg..
All these colleges have 60 seats.
So App. 200 seats.
Each college has 18 seats for BC. So there is a minimum chance for 25 BCs in a college.
So if u get below rank 110 in BC then u will get chance in Thiagarajar. (Even SSN bcoz last yr. a guy got rank 95 in BC and got SSN)
Now my overall rank is 125…and my community rank is 70…
now can i get seat in thiagarajar college…..please reply me yar

There are very few colgs good for MBA in tamil nadu. First take a list of colgs and arrange it according to its grade and u can sort out de prob. i even don know whether u hav outside reservation or not. ok, if not leave psg, ceg, ssn, tsm. they are far away, u can try next grade colleges.
councelling wil be held by july end. U hav de choice of chhosing any colg according to ur wish and de availability of seats. They will send a call letter abt de councelling date and time. bring 5000 cash, jus to reserve de seat u choose at tat time of councelling. Choose a good colg. all de best.

all these colgs are compartively good when compared with others in 2nd grade colgs.
but cant assure u for placements,, but u got no other option if u want to do MBA. Consult with many other guys before making any decision..

yes praveen. i tried doing that. but it doesnt give me a clear picture because there are other category candidates within 100. And they too will be treated as oc and only after filling up OC seats, they will go for bc or mbc seats. Hence i couldnt get a clear picture. if you get any info about the OC rank cut offs for these collegs, pl post them. Thanks a lot for your reply mate.

Hei i got BC rank 56 last yr. I got PSG. There is also a little bit of luck need. If Some of candidates above yr rank will not come to counseling then u will get into PSG. PSG has 14 seats for BC. Any way around 18 candidates from BC will get PSG. Some of guys will get Anna univ. and they will not come to Gnrl. counseling.

Last yr the Fees structure in PSG for MCA was Rs.19,500/- We already pay the amount 5,000/- in the counseling. so. the remaining 14,500/-
To Anna univ.the same fees 19,500/- for regular but they charge plus 9,000/- as a refundable amount.. For self supporting they charge 19,500+5,000..

Rank list error would not have happened upto 40 marks, i presume there is error who have obtained between 30 and 40. Because when I analysed the frequency distribution in the range of 30-40, there is lot of disparities and wide gap. Hence, canditates in the range of 30-40 may undergo rank changes.

He in counseling they will give a date. If we will cancel our allotment in any college then they will fill the seats by rank list. If we will cancel after the particular date then the college will fill the seat by Management Quota.

A canditate who secured 41 marks has been ranked 116 whereas another canditate who got 33 marks is ranked 533. That means for eight mark difference, there are about 417 canditates, at an average of 50 canditates for one mark. In normal case, this may not happen because it is not plus two mark, where,we can see 200 students for one mark.This is my personal observation and may be wrong, when my thinking goes wrong.

a guy who got 32.4 has secured 584 rank states appox. 51 candidates for 0.6 mark difference. it will be good if we get more information. why dont we put the rank for the whole numbers atleast

2)Qualifying Examinatiopn Provisioal Certificate

6)TANCET 2008 Mark Sheet
7)Permanent Community Certificate with goppuram seal(if applicable)

The CBE anna univ counseling has been conducted only to fill the seats for anna univ(CBE) only and no other colleges will be included under this.All the colleges like GCT,PSG,CIT etc.. will come under anna univ CHENNAI counseling.

No confusion my friend.Even the statement like “colleges under CBE Anna Univ” has been given even in the TANCA book.It doesn’t mean that only through anna univ(CBE)counseling we can select GCT(CBE),PSG.They just gave the list stating that these are under anna univ(CBE) for easy administration.I have refered professors and the reply is these reputed colleges come under only chennai anna univ counseling and jothipuram is near by Pricol(Famous Industry in CBE which is approx 7-8 kms from gandhipuram)

I don’t know exactly but when we consider the % of seats alloted for each category it may be 7 for 0C 6 for BC(The remaining will be shared by other community).What is ur score?(R u a GATE 0r NON-GATE candidate)

Most of the candidates with top ranks hv’nt arrived for general counselling.. I think they will be going for anna counselling..
Even most of them who have selected PSG Tech also waiting for anna counselling, if they got a seat there they vil be joining there..

For those who got the seat in Anna univ chennai (MBA) – y don u guys leave the way for other students in GCT counseling? Think once, if u come there and take good coll, some students (with bit lower rank than u) wont be able to make in to top coll like PSG, SSN, etc. and one more thg is tat u will be wasting ur seat in any one ur choice for sure. As u know Anna univ is ofcourse the best in TN and thats y u ve opted for it. y cant u give life for others?
